Developments in the field of library automation is disappointingly slow in spite of developments in the IT field. Only a small percentage of the libraries have implemented library automation. The purpose of providing right information to the right user is possible only by pooling the entire information resources in the state. This requires effective networking of all libraries. This can be achieved only with librarians participation, government patronage and adoption of state of the art network architecture.

My ambition is to accomplish such a network and achieve optimum use of information resources.
